What's New

November 30, 2017

Dear Voyager Families,

November has flown by, as we have enjoyed the youth attending not only the after-school enrichment program, but also the free teen center.  The Non-Profit Holiday Bazaar was a terrific opportunity to gather with the Ouray County community and see some adorable dogs pose with Santa.  The enthusiasm grows as the third and fourth graders continue to hone their basketball skills thanks to TJ Burr, Kelly Goodin, and Adam DuBroff.  Go Eagles!  But while winter’s silvery fingers just begin to touch the landscape, we look forward to fun in and out of doors for December and the holidays.

The After School Program continues to enrich as we explore heat, trees, horses, and astronomy; and the teen center is always open after school Monday through Thursday.  While Voyager enrichment program and the Teen Center will be closed the week after Christmas, we will be open and available for full day adventures the week after New Year’s Day.  That is Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, January 2nd, 3rd, and 4th, and Monday the 8th.  Visit to get the latest updated calendar or to learn more about all the above-mentioned activities.

This Friday, December 1st, Voyager will be participating in the annual NOEL NIGHT from 5 to 9 PM.  We are offering a warm place for the kids to hang out at 280 N. Cora while parents visit participating businesses.  Stop by after the light parade.  Santa and Mrs. Claus will also be stopping in to warm up with snacks and hot drinks.

Ouray County Communities that Care is trucking right along.  The Resource Assessment workgroup is conducting an in-depth look at youth substance abuse programs and standards already in the community through hours of online research and face to face interviews.  We are celebrating the strengths and defining the gaps so we can bolster those programs and introduce new ones that align with our strategies.  If you are interested in being a part of the coalition, contact Lisa at

As the season of giving abuts the end of the year, Voyager would like to thank you in advance for your generous spirit.  We are grateful for the many volunteers and donors who have stepped up throughout the year to help Voyager in a variety of ways.  You can help Voyager by: Making Voyager your recipient on AmazonSmile by using this hyperlink or searching Ouray County Schools Community Resource Consortium, Making Voyager a recipient for Telluride Gives Day on Thursday, December 14th, Or choosing to roll your child care credit into a tax deductible donation.

Have a great December!
