Learn About Voyager

Voyager’s board is made up of parents, youth serving professionals, youth, and community members who all share the same vision of youth realizing their full potential.  The main responsibilities of board members include:

·       Regular attendance and preparation for monthly board meetings

·       Attendance in annual board retreats to help guide a strategic planning process to set long term goals for the organization

·       Oversight and governance of Voyager staff members

Voyager is seeking young people who are:

·       Passionate about making a difference in their community

·       Have an interest in non-profit leadership

·       Value growth, connection, compassion, integrity, resilience, and fun

Mary and Scott Plumb purchased a home in Ridgway, CO, in 2008. After 28 years in a global career selling aircraft and managing sales teams in both the commercial and private aviation markets, Mary and Scott returned to retire in Ridgway in 2016. Scott joined the Voyager Board in July 2016. "I believe that youth are our future, and, if we help shape their values as children, not only do we have a safer and more healthy community today, but also we make Ridgway more attractive to families and sustainable for years to come".

Shannon Robinson, Vice President

Shannon works for Ouray and San Miguel Counties Juvenile Diversion Program as a Case Manager and Prevention Coordinator. She has lived in Ridgway since 1984 and has married and raised her family here. She supports the Voyager Youth Program because she is committed to seeing Ouray County youth have the opportunity to make healthy choices.

Travis Cossitt, Treasurer

Travis Cossitt is the Chief Operations Officer at Citizen State Bank, leading the organization’s operational and strategic initiatives. Cossitt has over a decade of experience consulting for Fortune 500s including, Accenture, Freddie Mac, and Western Union. Cossitt studied and graduated from University of Montana, with an MBA completing his degree with a clerkship on the United States Senate Committee on Finance. Travis sits on the board of the Ouray County Community Fund, he and his wife Krysta enjoy skiing, hiking, and travel.

Lanae Pierce, Secretary

Lanae was born and raised in Texas and has lived on the Western Slope for more than seven years. She has 13 years of experience working in various school districts with children who have special needs. Her son attends Voyager Youth Program, and Lanae feels that the program is vital for the success of her son and her family. Lanae supports the Voyager Youth Program because Voyager is a community outreach program that provides a safe, loving environment for the families of Ouray County. 

Aimee Quadri

Aimee Quadri, grew up in the Ridgway area and, after leaving to pursue college and career paths, returned 8 years ago with her family. She has spent the last 17 years working in the nonprofit sector and currently works as a grant writer for Hilltop Community Resources, a human services agency offering programs across the Western Slope. Aimee has a daughter that attends Ridgway Elementary School. Aimee is currently serving a four year term on the Ridgway School District Board of Directors. Aimee and her family love the Ridgway community and enjoy taking advantage of the countless opportunities offered.

Bradley Boykin

Bradley Boykin, also called Bug, is a student at Ouray High School currently taking classes online through CDLS. They grew up in Kansas and moved to Colorado before their 7th grade school year. Bradley spends their time outside of Voyager and school making music. They decided to volunteer to join the Voyager board position after finding interest in helping other people struggling with mental health after attending Sources of Strength meetings consistently since 8th grade and joining Communities That Care.

Mica Hart

I have lived in Ouray with my family for all 15 years of my life. I am currently a Sophomore at Ouray Highs chool. Usually, you will find me at school or up high in the mountains. I have always loved volunteering and working within the community. I want to make a difference, and there is no better way than to join a great organization like Voyager.

Addie Valrie Tesch, RN

Addie has lived on the Western Slope since 1995, and made Ridgway her home in 2015. Addie has worked as a Registered Nurse in diverse settings since 1995. She has also been a Real Estate Investor, Property Manager, and Construction Manager since 1992. She raised three successful college educated children, two of whom graduated from Ridgway Secondary School. She said, about being a parent, “It’s the best and hardest job I’ve ever had!” Growing up with many challenges, Addie learned perseverance, how to be a survivor, and change outcomes for herself and others. She has always had a big heart, passion and connection with youth. It is an honor to be on the Voyager Youth Program Board and she looks forward to collaborating on solutions for success. Addie and her husband Bob Tesch look forward to making a difference in our future generations. They are grateful to call Ridgway home.

Kenneth Nelson

Kenneth Nelson is a school administrator at Ouray Schools in Ouray, Colorado where he is currently serving as the PreK - 8th grade principal. He and his wife, Evelyn, and five children Kaden, Kortlan, Keaton, Estes, and Everlea have called Ouray County home since July of 2014. Kenneth supports the Voyager Youth Program because they champion for all students and provide outreach and education to support the youth of both the Ridgway and Ouray communities.
